League night
Ghosts & Subs
What to do when a shooter does not turn up: ghost the slot, or put a sub in it — and what each one does to the score and the handicap.
Ghost or sub?#
| Situation | What to do |
|---|---|
| Didn't show, nobody is filling in | 👻 Ghost them on the Lineup or between-games screen. |
| Didn't show, a sub is filling in | 🔄 Sub — the sub's darts count as the sub's. Can be done at any point, even mid-game. |
| Marked absent, turns up mid-game | Let the game in progress finish as scored, then bring them back between games. |
Ghosting a no-show#
- 1Ghosts are set before a game starts — on the Lineup screen before the match, or the lineup step between games. Not while a game is being scored.
- 2Tap 👻 Ghost beside their name. The button then reads Back — tap it again to restore them.
- 3Their row fades and there is nothing to enter for them that game.
A ghosted slot still scores. The team is credited with a share of that shooter's average — 100% in week 1, 80% from week 2 at Tanner's, both set when the league is built. It is worked out from their average as it stands that week, not the number they started on.
Good to know
For the handicap, a ghosted slot counts at the rostered shooter's full average, even if a sub was picked for that slot earlier — nobody is shooting it, so sitting a strong shooter can't manufacture handicap. Marking someone a ghost leaves any sub choice alone, so a mis-tap on Ghost then Back does not lose the sub.
Tip
Ghosts are saved with the match, like the rest of the lineup, so they survive a reload or a change of tablet.
Putting in a sub#
Open full size ↗- 1Tap 🔄 Sub beside the rostered shooter being replaced.
- 2Tap the sub's name. The list scrolls when there are a lot of subs — swipe it; nobody is picked until you lift your finger on a name.
- 3From then on, innings are recorded under the sub.
- 4Pick — No sub — to go back to the rostered shooter.
Good to know
If the shooter being replaced already has innings in the current game, the picker warns you first: those innings drop out of the team total once the swap happens. Subbing in before their first inning is always safe.
Tip
Whoever turned up is not on the list? + Add new sub… at the bottom of the picker adds them, with their average, there and then — no need to leave the board or find an admin.
A sub plays on their own average: it goes into the team average, and so the handicap, for the games they shoot.
